2015 Chevrolet Silverado Midnight Edition Z71 is definitely on of the most popular new trucks available on American market. With RAM releasing its Laramie Longhorn and Ford having its King’s Ranch this is definitely a long waited luxury version of this popular Chevy truck. Black trucks are increasingly popular in last several years and Chevy is using that to promote its super luxury and mafioso looking Midnight Edition model.
This model was promoted on the National Automobile Dealers Association Convention and Expo in San Francisco and it also debuted on Chicago Auto Show in February. This is definitely one of the most competitive trucks out there and it will compete with Ford’s Tonka redesigns as well as with King’s Ranch and RAM Laramie Longhorn which are the most popular luxury trucks on the market.

On the outside this edition comes with various changes and additions comparing to the regular Silverado. It will come with all black paint including grille, bumper, headlamp bezels and hooks and fog lamps. On the side it will also have black moldings and belt line. It will roll on 18 inch black painted alloy wheels that will be paired with Goodyear Wrangler Duratrack tires that proved to be very capable in the off-road conditions. On the side we will also be able to see Z21 badges on the door and some other luxury exterior touches including A spray in bedliner and black Chevy bowtie logos in the front and in the back.
When it comes to off road capability this is going to be one really capable and powerful truck. It will include locking rear differential and special off-road suspension. It will also come with Hill Decent control as part of the trailing package that will be little bit more expensive than the regular edition. Special editions of this model will also include heated power adjusted rear windows and special midnight par assist.

Inside the cabin this truck will probably come with some of the latest technology when it comes to infotainment system, 3D navigation and the latest telematics system which will be able to connect it to the various gadgets and with other trucks in the fleet. Its seats are going to be wrapped in leather same as the steering wheel and it is going to be the special kind of premium Alcantra we can also see on other luxury truck editions. It will also come with nice tapestry and a lot of soft touch materials, including some carbon fiber and wood trim.

When it comes to performance this truck will come with base 4,3 liter V6 model and if buyers decide to give additional $1,100 it can be uplifted to 5,3 liter V8 which will also come with some additional power and will be paired with six speed automatic transmission. Both of these engines are made with EcoTech3 technology and they have Variable Valve Timing and Direct Fuel Injection. Base engine is rated at 285 horsepower and 305 pound feet of torque, while the V8 engine is able to produce 355 horsepower and 383 pound feet of torque. There’s going to be another option for the Chevy Midnight Edition, that still hasn’t entered the production. This is going to be the 6,2 liter V8 engine which is going to be rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound feet of torque.

Another 5,000 models will arrive during this year. This truck already arrive in the showrooms and it can be bought by the dealers since February, but we are expecting the largest shipment to arrive just before the summer. Buyers will need to pay from $1,500 to $2,000 for the additional packages including the trailer package and some other more luxury ones.
