2018 Jeep Wrangler Truck Concept... – The current Wrangler has been around since 2006 and it quickly become just as loved as its predecessors. Even though it still is one of the best selling compact crossovers on the market and one of the most capable as well, the Wrangler reached the end of its life, especially since there are going to be new rules and regulations about the safety of the car which the current model will not met. In order to keep selling the car, the US manufacturer will finally release a new model with the Jeep Wrangler 2018 which is actually going to be an all new car which will have little in common with the current generation.
The new model will include changes on the outside, new engines and transmissions, a different interior as well as a vastly different manufacturing process. While it will continue to be a body-on-frame design, the new Wrangler is actually going to have its body built out of aluminum with a few steel parts. This means that it will lose a lot of weight when compared with the current model which could also mean that the car will be stronger and more expensive as well.
2018 Jeep Wrangler – Price and Release Date
The latter has not been confirmed so far but it seems unlikely that the current $24,000 base price is going to be carried over as well but Jeep may do a few changes in order to accomplish this as well. This car was first supposed to be released to the public in the early 2015 but due to a few design difficulties, the Wrangler is now more likely to be first shown to the public some time in the late 2016 or early 2017 while the production model will only come in the late 2017.

Engine and Specs of Jeep Wrangler 2018
In terms of engines, the 2018 Jeep Wrangler could use a mix of new and old engines. The base model will not get the current 3.6 liter V6 but rather a smaller 2 or 2.4 liter Tigershark turbocharged inline 4. This would allow Jeep to keep the price of the Wrangler on a similar level to that of the current model. The new turbocharged inline 4 engine will likely develop around 250 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque while the updated 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 will provide little over 310 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque which is more than enough for an off-road vehicle. Both of these engines will come with all wheel drive as standard and both of them should come with an 8 speed automatic.
For the first time in the US, the new Wrangler could also get a 3 liter inline 4 diesel which could provide up to 200 horsepower and well over 350 lb-ft of torque. This will provide the required fuel consumption while offering good performance levels in off-road.
2018 Jeep Wrangler: Exterior and Interior Design
In terms of design, an insider from Jeep revealed a few interesting details about the 2018 model. It seems that the detachable windshield as well as the usual roll-bar are going to be completely removed. On top of that, the soft-top model will also be completely dismissed in the favor of a targa-like design which will likely get removable roof panels. The usual roll-bar of the Jeep will likely be replaced by a tougher roof and this has been needed in order to allow for the aluminum construction of the car. The bumpers as well as the tailgate have been confirmed to be very similar to the current model but the design of the front end will likely be different.
Inside the cabin, the 2018 Jeep Wrangler should receive quite a few updates, especially when it comes to the design of the cabin. This will receive softer materials which will be better to the touch as well as more durable, new interior equipment and new seats that will provide more comfort to its passengers. Some rumors also said that the base version, thanks to the fact it will not have a soft-top, is going to be quite a bit roomier inside offering enough space for up to five people and nearly double the luggage space of the older model.
