2016 Jeep Gladiator Price, Specs, Interior… – Jeep has a long running history with pickup trucks but they did not build one for over 25 years because the Chrysler group thought that the Ram brand is enough for making trucks. However, in many instances there have been people looking for a compact size truck with the usual Jeep styling and many people were disappointed for the lack of such a truck.

This could change in the near future, especially since the Jeep Gladiator 2016 Concept might be closer than we first thought. It seems that this new model will be released at the same time with the new Wrangler which is to be expected, especially since the upcoming Gladiator will be a pickup version of the Wrangler.
Price and release date of 2016 Jeep Gladiator
The two cars will be sharing the same chassis, engines and even running gear. The changes will come on the outside as well as on the interior where the Gladiator could offer a few extras over the Wrangler. The price, while unknown at this point, could start at less than $22,000, less than what the Wrangler costs. This is because the truck will be offered with a standard 2-seats cab on the base model as well as with rear wheel drive as standard, two cost saving measures which should give it quite a bit of headroom when it comes to the higher end models.
The good part is that just like with the Wrangler, the 2016 Jeep Gladiator Concept will use the same aluminum and steel body which should allow it to be quite light, especially when compared to some of its main competitors.
Engine of Jeep Gladiator 2016
Engine wise, the Gladiator should be offered with a few different engines ranging from a lowly 4 cylinder all the way up to a very powerful diesel. The base model is likely going to make use of a 2.4 liter naturally aspirated inline 4 offering 184 horsepower and little over 175 lb-ft of torque while further up the range we may see a turbocharged version of the same engine with more than 260 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque. A 3.6 liter naturally aspirated V6 with more than 310 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque is also going to be made available on the all wheel drive versions of the truck.
The most awaited engine of them all though is likely going to be the 3 liter turbocharged inline 4 diesel which has been expected for quite some time now. This could provide 200 horsepower and more than 350 lb-ft of torque and it is expected to be able to tow well over 8,000 pounds. All of them will use an 8 speed automatic as standard and rear wheel drive with the exception of the base model which could get a 6 speed manual gearbox as well.

2016 Jeep Gladiator Design
The exterior design, while unknown at this point, is likely going to be heavily influenced by that of the upcoming Wrangler. This means that the front end will be pretty much identical to that of the Wrangler. The changes will come in the back where the 2016 Jeep Gladiator Concept will feature bed which could be available in a few different sizes as well as an exterior mounted spare wheel, similar to what the 1960s trucks had.
The interior will be quite basic on the base models in order to allow Jeep to keep a low price for the Gladiator. However, the top end versions will feature fully fledged interiors with five seats, enough storage inside the cabin, leather, aluminum inserts, satellite navigation, climate control as well as a lot of commodities. On top of that, the truck 2016 Jeep Gladiator may actually be offered with a four-door cab which would tremendously improve access to the rear seats.
